Before hauling a fall cleanout to the curb, check your Celina address, the calendar color and the pile itself. CWD’s Celina service rules separate ordinary cart service from bulky waste and tied brush. A Celina mailing address alone does not establish that the property receives this City service.
The provider’s Celina page offers an address lookup and current service guidance. Use the individual service address before planning a pickup, especially around municipal boundaries.
Use the 2026 calendar, not a guessed alternating week
The 2026 CWD bulk-and-brush calendar colors the remaining October weeks as follows. These are service-week ranges, not five pickups for each home.
Calendar group | Remaining October service week |
|---|---|
Yellow | October 19–23 |
Blue | October 26–30 |
Your pickup is on your assigned service day within the matching week. Use the address tool and color map together; do not choose a group from a neighborhood name or a neighbor’s pile. By this guide’s October 20 publication date, a Monday stop in the yellow week will already have passed. Do not set items out for an invented catch-up collection.
Measure bulk volume and brush bundles differently
The residential services brochure lists a two-cubic-yard bulky-waste limit per pickup. It separately allows unlimited tied brush bundles that each meet its size and weight limits.
A brush bundle must be no larger than 4 feet by 2 feet and no heavier than 50 pounds. Unlimited qualifying bundles does not mean an unlimited mixed pile of furniture, bags and branches. Measure the items before moving them, and ask CWD about anything you cannot classify safely.
Sort the items before setting them out
The brochure lists furniture, certain appliances, four-foot bundled carpet and fence panels no larger than 4 by 6 feet among accepted bulk items. Refrigerators and freezers require a tag certifying refrigerant removal. An appliance being on the list does not waive that condition.
Keep loose brush, tires, batteries, propane tanks, household hazardous waste and commercial construction or remodeling debris out of the ordinary bulk pile. Additional trash bags are also excluded. CWD’s brochure rejects single bulk items over 150 pounds; eligible containerized household debris has its own 2-by-2-by-4-foot and 50-pound limits. Do not apply the heavier single-item limit to a brush bundle.
Set out for the correct service, by 7 a.m.
CWD requires bulky items and qualifying brush at the front curb by 7 a.m. on the designated collection day. Weekly trash and recycling follow cart rules, not the bulk-pile allowance. The provider says trash outside the cart is not serviced and recyclable material belongs loose inside its recycling cart.
A useful household checklist is: confirm the address result, save the matching calendar week, measure bundles, separate excluded items and then confirm the service day. If the lookup and map disagree, resolve that with CWD before building a curbside pile.
Ask for a special-pickup quote before assuming a price
CWD directs customers with extra or noncompliant items to 972-392-9300, option 2, for a special-pickup estimate. The estimate is free; the pickup is not therefore free. A current special-pickup dollar rate was not established in the public material checked October 18. Confirm the quoted volume, item exclusions, compulsory charges and pickup arrangement before accepting it.
The provider also identifies X-treme Green events as an alternative for certain hazardous materials and electronics. This guide does not establish a next event date, current acceptance list or drop-off eligibility. Verify the actual event before loading the car.
Keep the household plan separate from the outing plan
Our moving-to-Celina checklist explains why utility and school boundaries need separate checks. For family plans after the cleanout, use the Celina kids’ guide. Neither replaces the provider’s address-specific collection instructions. This is a practical guide to published rules, not an announcement of a new October service change.
