380 Daily exists to help residents understand local information and make better-informed everyday decisions. These standards guide our coverage; they are not a claim that every story involved an interview, site visit or professional review.

Sources and verification

Use the responsible agency for regulations and public projects, the school district for enrollment and attendance information, the organizer for an event, and the specific business location for pricing and availability. Link the exact supporting page near the relevant claim or in the story’s source list. Credit useful original reporting from local news sites and blogs.

Check source dates and distinguish the date an announcement was made from the date of an event. Proposed, approved, funded, under construction and open describe different stages. A prior announcement alone is not evidence that a facility is open. When sources conflict, explain the conflict and avoid presenting an unresolved claim as confirmed.

Experience and expertise

Do not invent visits, interviews, product tests, professional qualifications or community relationships. Identify direct experience only when it actually occurred. Professional or expert review should be credited only when a qualified person has reviewed the material. Our author profiles describe the editorial identities used by this publication.

Housing, tax, legal, health and safety information requires particular care. Give readers the relevant official source and the limits of general information. A checklist is not individualized professional advice.

Local prices and recommendations

Report the provider, location, currency, unit, age or residency restrictions, date checked and known mandatory fees. Distinguish ordinary prices from promotions, estimates and our own calculations. If a rate cannot be verified, say so and direct readers to the provider. A listing is not an inspection, endorsement or guarantee of service quality.

AI assistance and illustrations

AI tools assist research and writing. Sadie Brooks, Beau Bennett and Wyatt Parker are editorial names, not individual reporters with personal qualifications. The author pages explain their coverage. The publication is responsible for the resulting articles.

Some images are conceptual illustrations generated with AI. They should not be interpreted as photographs of a specific place, business, person or event. Descriptive alt text and internal media records preserve this distinction. Documentary photographs, when used, require appropriate sourcing and credit.

Original value and readable articles

Answer the resident’s question early, then provide useful local detail. Add meaningful comparisons, planning steps or explanations instead of repackaging a source without added value. There is no word-count quota. Use clear headings, accessible images, helpful internal links, publication dates and source-review dates.

Updates, corrections and independence

Preserve the original publication date. Explain material corrections with a dated note; do not silently rewrite a consequential factual error. Time-sensitive details may change after publication. Our corrections policy explains the process.

Paid placement must be visibly identified. Commercial relationships do not buy favorable factual conclusions. See advertising and disclosures.
