Y’all planning a fall race can choose a Fun Run, 5K or 10K at Prosper’s Veterans Day Honor Run on Saturday, November 7, 2026. The opening program begins at 8 a.m. at Frontier Park, 1551 W. Frontier Parkway. The races have separate starts, so 8 a.m. is the ceremony time, not every runner’s starting gun.
The Town’s event page identifies the Prosper Veterans Memorial as the beneficiary. This is a dated outing guide, not a claim that the memorial is already complete.
Compare the three starts and listed charges
The current organizer registration details list these prices, checked October 18. Dollar amounts are USD per entrant.
Distance | November 7 start, Central | Race fee | Listed signup fee | Our sum |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Fun Run | 9:15 a.m. | $25 | $3 | $28 |
5K | 8:50 a.m. | $45 | $4.20 | $49.20 |
10K | 8:30 a.m. | $45 | $4.20 | $49.20 |
These sums are not completed checkout quotes. RunSignup says processing charges can vary per registrant; any further tax, optional purchase or adjustment needs confirmation. Its price table lists race-day increases to $30 plus $3.30 for the Fun Run and $50 plus $4.50 for either longer race. Recheck availability and the final amount before paying.
Resolve the October 24 versus October 25 cutoff
The Town page and the organizer’s main information page say to register by October 25 for a guaranteed shirt and finisher medal. The detailed event page says registration after October 24 does not guarantee those items.
The published cutoff dates conflict. If the shirt and medal matter, ask Parks & Recreation which deadline governs before relying on either one. October 24 is the earlier date, but this guide cannot promise inventory or resolve the organizer’s discrepancy. Race entry and a guaranteed souvenir are separate decisions.
Choose a distance your group can manage
The organizer’s race information welcomes walkers, children, people pushing strollers and people using wheelchairs. Its route description says the 10K repeats the 5K route twice. Confirm the course map and any individual accommodation needs with the organizer; an inclusive entry policy does not describe every surface or slope.
Our planning suggestion is to choose each person’s distance first, then calculate the family total. For example, two currently listed 5K entries plus two Fun Run entries calculate to $154.40 before any checkout variation. That arithmetic assumes four separate paid entries at the displayed fees and does not include food, optional merchandise or other purchases.
The advertised free-entry option has an earlier deadline
The event page still promotes free registration through the Mayor’s Fitness Challenge. However, the challenge requirements specify Prosper residency, prior participation and submission of training documentation by October 15, 2026.
That deadline has passed. Do not assume a new race entry now qualifies for a fee waiver. Someone who completed the requirements should confirm their registration arrangement with Parks & Recreation before purchasing a second entry. The published material does not establish a late-entry exception.
Plan the arrival and packet pickup separately
The organizer places the start inside the PISD stadium parking lot and links a public-parking map. Use that map rather than treating every nearby lot as event parking. Give your group time for the 8 a.m. program, packet collection and its own race start.
Advance packet pickup is listed at 409 E. First Street, with race-morning pickup also offered. The posted advance-pickup wording spans November 4–6 without a clear daily-hours breakdown. Confirm the day and hours with Parks & Recreation at 972-569-1160 instead of assuming one window applies all three days. Refund, transfer and any final eligibility conditions also need checking before purchase.
Make it part of a local family day
For lower-commitment outings on another day, browse our Prosper kids’ guide. Compare a single race entry with a recurring class on its own terms; this event is not a weekly membership. Check the organizer again before November 7 for changed times, weather instructions and availability.
