For a midyear Princeton ISD move, start with the child’s physical home address and the 2026–27 campus zone. The district separates new-student enrollment from annual registration for returning students. Owning a home in a zone is not, by itself, the same as living there.
The district enrollment page directs new families to their assigned campus and lists the records staff will request. The steps below help you reach the right registrar without treating a Princeton mailing address or a seller’s school list as the final answer.
Check the district and then the campus
Princeton ISD directs families to the Collin Central Appraisal District property search to help confirm the school district for an address. Its attendance-zone page then provides 2026–2027 elementary and secondary maps, a school-zone finder and a bus-finder link.
These are different checks. A district boundary identifies the responsible school system; a campus zone identifies the assigned school within it. Enter the full physical address and have the registrar resolve an incomplete or conflicting result, especially for a newly built street. Save which school year you checked.
The district says zones can change as campuses are added. This guide does not announce a newly adopted boundary change or assign an individual home to a campus.
Prepare records for the registrar
The district’s published list includes residency evidence, the student’s birth certificate or passport, academic records, immunization records and parent or guardian identification. It says a current utility bill should show the adult’s name and physical address; a P.O. box is not accepted. Its listed alternatives include new-home closing documents or a current signed lease when a utility bill is unavailable.
An official transcript is required for completed high-school credit, according to the district page. Its withdrawal-document requirement is listed specifically for out-of-state transfers. Ask the registrar how previous school records will be obtained and which documents are still outstanding rather than assuming every transfer requires the same packet.
Ask about missing documents and student protections
The district also lists a Social Security card. The Texas Education Agency’s general FAQ explains that a state-issued student number is available when a child has no Social Security number or a parent chooses not to disclose it. Ask the registrar about that alternative.
Families experiencing homelessness have additional protections. TEA’s TEHCY guidance says enrollment must be immediate and cannot wait for residency, immunization, birth or guardianship paperwork. Contact the district’s homeless liaison or registrar for help with the actual circumstances. The ordinary document checklist should not be used to tell an eligible child to stay home until every item is collected.
Use the returning-student process only when it fits
For students already enrolled, the district’s 2026–27 instructions use the Infinite Campus Parent Portal: More, then Online Registration. Families review contact information, address, emergency contacts, transportation and other required sections.
The page says a submitted registration locks against later editing. Review the details before submitting, and contact the campus if a correction is needed. A completed returning-student form is not automatically the correct new-student application for a family moving in from another district.
Do not treat a transfer request as a campus guarantee
The transfer page distinguishes transfers within Princeton ISD from eligible nonresident transfers into it. Its displayed 2026 request windows ended in April, May or July, depending on the category. Those dates are past, and the page does not establish a new October application window.
It also says transfers require annual approval and that bus transportation is not provided for transfer students. Ask about current procedures or an individual exception directly; do not plan a move around an assumed approval.
Confirm the start date and transportation
Use the campus registrar directory to confirm receipt, placement, the actual first day and any remaining records. Check bus arrangements separately from the school-zone result. No family’s application, eligibility or seat assignment was verified for this guide.
For household setup, our moving-to-Princeton utility guide covers a separate provider and billing process. The Princeton kids’ guide covers local outings. School and state guidance were checked October 19, 2026; use the responsible campus for individual enrollment decisions.
