Melissa library Halloween Festival: October 30 morning plans and admission

On this page

Melissa Public Library's Annual Halloween Festival is Friday, October 30, 2026, from 9–11 a.m., or while supplies last. The city's calendar lists the City Hall lobby and Park Plaza behind City Hall, at the library/City Hall campus, 3411 Barker Avenue. This is a morning event, not an evening trick-or-treat session. What the organizer actually lists

The announced activities include trick-or-treating with city departments, games, local vendors and food trucks. Costumes are encouraged and the listing welcomes all ages. The announcement does not publish a detailed performance schedule, a guaranteed quantity of treats or an allergy-specific distribution plan.

Plan around the two-hour window rather than assuming a late arrival receives the full program. The “while supplies last” condition matters if one particular activity or treat is the reason your family wants to attend.

Free admission does not include every purchase

The library's current program policy says its events remain free to attend, including programs that require registration or tickets. The Melissa Gazette's October 15 festival coverage also describes free admission. We checked the city calendar directly for the date, time and location; this is not an account of our own visit.

Treat food-truck meals and vendor purchases as separate spending. We have not verified menus, individual prices, mandatory ordering fees or payment methods for the businesses attending. Free entry is not a promise of a free lunch or free merchandise.

Check the library's registration indicators

The library introduced registration/waitlists and ticketing for selected programs effective September 1, 2026. Its overview says calendar and social-media icons identify affected events, and registration or tickets do not carry an admission charge.

The festival description checked did not establish a festival-specific reservation process or a paid admission ticket. Reopen the current listing and follow any registration instructions added by the organizer. A general library policy does not establish that every festival activity is reserved or that every visitor needs a ticket.

Build the morning around your family's needs

Our planning suggestion is to decide how long your children can comfortably stay, allow time for the venue check and leave room for a change of plans. The listing spans indoor lobby and outdoor plaza areas, so check the forecast and current organizer notices.

Ask staff about accessibility, bathrooms, sensory conditions or food-allergy arrangements if those details determine whether the outing works for your family. We have not verified dedicated quiet hours, accessible parking capacity or a weather-backup schedule. The library's published phone is 972-837-4540. Library contact and updates

For other dates and age groups, use the Melissa kids guide. This festival is separate from the Melissa Chamber's October 31 event for children with special needs; eligibility, venue and registration should not be carried from one listing to the other.

Sources and the final check before leaving

The official calendar, library overview and credited local coverage were checked October 16, 2026. No cancellation was visible in the city listing at that check. The calendar can change, so check it again near October 30. We have not established a parking fee, food budget or guarantee that supplies last until 11 a.m.
