Anna's household hazardous-waste and electronics collection is Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 8 a.m. to noon at Anna Municipal Plaza, 120 W. 7th Street. The city says the event is free for Anna residents, requires proof of residency and has limited space. It runs rain or shine, with staff available to unload. Check residency before loading the car
Bring proof of Anna residency. The notice does not specify which documents it accepts, a household quantity limit or whether a particular unusual item will be accepted. Ask the city about those points before transporting a questionable load. A mailing address alone should not be treated as a confirmed eligibility decision.
The four-hour window is a collection period, not an appointment or a reserved unloading space. Check the city entry again before leaving, especially if a storm or another change could affect your plans. The city has not promised unlimited capacity.
Sort the load into accepted categories
The organizer lists paint, thinners, stains, household cleaners, pool chemicals, pesticides, fuels, motor oil, oil filters and car or household batteries among accepted materials. Its electronics list includes computers, televisions, printers, scanners, receivers, projectors and game consoles. Use the full city list for an item we have not named; this summary does not extend acceptance to every garage or workshop product.
Our practical suggestion is to make a short inventory first. That gives you something specific to ask about and helps keep accepted items separate from the materials below.
Leave these items out of this collection
Pharmaceuticals and tires are not accepted. The city's exclusions also include ammunition, explosives, biohazardous waste and radioactive waste. Do not pack a rejected item in the hope that staff will find a way to take it.
The Anna event is separate from Little Elm's October 24 medicine take-back. If medication is the item you need to dispose of, read the Little Elm collection's own eligibility and accepted-material rules before considering that separate trip.
Keep products sealed and separate
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality recommends original containers with readable labels, upright transport and securing containers against leaks. Never combine leftover products. Its guidance explains that incompatible chemicals can create a serious hazard when mixed. Keep materials away from children and pets. TCEQ household-waste guidance
Those precautions do not make a damaged or leaking container acceptable for transport. Ask the responsible collection staff for instructions if the container's condition is uncertain.
Plan a collection trip, not a general trash drop
Y'all can use the week ahead to check eligibility and sort the load. Keep the city's exact item list handy rather than assuming this collection follows ordinary bulky-trash rules. The Anna Depot Dispatch's October program overview also flags the event; the city sources establish the operating details above.
For a separate family outing, our Anna kids guide collects parks and classes. Collection details and state handling guidance were checked October 16, 2026. This is a practical event-planning guide, not a new waste-service policy announcement.
